Do I have to be baptized again to join First West?
If you are a Christian, and have invited Christ to be your Savior & Lord and you have already been baptized by immersion since your conversion, you do not have to be baptized again before joining First West. If you haven't been baptized but you are a Christian, you may schedule your baptism and attend the Connect Class to complete the membership process.
What do I wear for baptism?
Wear a dark t-shirt and shorts. Bring a dry change of clothes, a towel, and something to put your wet clothes in. Hair dryers are provided in the baptism changing rooms.
When does baptism take place in the service?
Baptism usually takes place in the first 15 minutes of the service.
What is river baptism?
 During the warmer months of the year we offer river baptism which takes place in the Ouachita River at the Forsythe Pavillion on a Wednesday evening. We usually make a big celebration out of it with outdoor worship, food and fellowship. We provide motor coaches for both men and women to change in before and after baptism.
