This weekend, we ended the “Arise and Build” Series. For eight weeks, we walked through the Book of Nehemiah. The city of Jerusalem was in shambles, but Nehemiah led normal people to arise and build the city’s wall.
A wall was imperative to keep the city protected from the enemy.
But what’s been the point of the series?
I want you to see and understand the importance that everyone is needed to build up God’s Kingdom. God desire is for those who follow Him to do the work of evangelism in our city and world.
Many of you took the “1 Verse. 1 Story. 1 Person.” challenge. I am grateful that you have had linked arms with our staff, lay leadership, and myself to commit to sharing your faith.
I know there have been times where I have made a commitment, but I had no idea what to do next.
Today I want to assure you that we are so committed to this initiative that we want to give you handles to use.
Beginning this coming Sunday, we will train you in LIFE Groups. We will take 10 minutes for the next 5-6 weeks to show you how to share your faith. You’ll learn about how your story is invaluable to the message of the Gospel.
Thirdly, we want to put tools in your hands. You should have received a pack of invitation cards to our church. Three of these cards say “Be My Guest.” Two cards invite people to our worship gatherings for Easter. These cards can be useful anywhere but could also be tools to help start a spiritual conversation.
These are a few things that we are doing for you to help you Arise and Build. May God stir in us in the days ahead to share our faith.
