Deaf people value the opportunity to learn in a deaf context, from deaf teachers, pastors, and with other deaf believers. Deaf people thrive on interaction with other deaf people as a means of processing and internalizing information.

At First West, we desire every believer learn about and develop his or her spiritual gifts. In a deaf believers' fellowship, each person is free to use his or her spiritual gifts, talents, and passion to serve in the work of the ministry instead of being seen as only objects of someone else's ministry.
